KUANTAN, May 20 (Bernama) -- Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) is expected to begin electricity supply connection works in Kuala Sat, Jerantut this Sunday.

TNB CareLine in a post on Facebook said the application related to the supply connection was received through a contractor at the end of December 2025 and accordingly, TNB had submitted an application to the relevant authorities in January this year to enable pole installation works to be carried out.

“We wish to inform that the implementation of works at the location is also subject to approval from the relevant authorities, including in terms of safety, technical aspects, as well as compliance with land status and right-of-way permissions,” the post said.

It said TNB was granted permission to proceed with pole installation works on May 17 and the works began today, with the target of commencing supply connection works on May 24.

Earlier, a video went viral showing a man holding a placard by the roadside to attract the attention of Sultan of Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah to inform him about the electricity supply problem faced by his family.

His Royal Highness, who was on a visit to the district, was later seen stopping his vehicle and meeting the family.

The utility company acknowledged the need for electricity supply as an essential basic facility for a family’s daily life and will continue to work with the relevant parties and review the matter to ensure similar cases can be managed in a more orderly and inclusive manner together with the relevant authorities in the future.
