KLANG, May 20 (Bernama) -- The Klang Selatan District Police Headquarters (IPD) has disposed of various case items worth RM636,950 involving contraband, gambling activities, general goods, and illegal Bitcoin mining.

Klang Selatan police chief ACP Lim Jit Huey said the disposal involved 16,869 units of contraband case goods, 899 units of gambling case items, 626 units of articles related to illegal Bitcoin mining, and 162 units of general items for cases that have concluded court proceedings.

All items were disposed of in accordance with the Inspector-General of Police’s Standing Orders Section D207 (PTKPN D207).

"This represents an illegal economic chain that we have successfully broken as a result of  intelligence, community information, as well as continuous checks, raids, and arrests," he said in his speech at the Klang Selatan IPD-level 2026 Case Items Disposal Ceremony, here today.

The ceremony was also attended by South Klang deputy police Chief Supt Kamalariffin Aman Shah, Klang Court Magistrate Nor Azilah Mat, and Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) Salman Alfarisi Nawawi.

Lim said that illegal gambling syndicates are the root cause of various domestic crimes that fracture family institutions and pose safety risks to local communities.

"These activities not only affect morals but also harm the economy. Illegal Bitcoin mining involves large-scale electricity theft and results in losses for the national utility company.

"Therefore, today's firm action is a clear warning from the Klang Selatan IPD that we will not compromise. I remind all residents never to get involved in or abet these activities," he said.

The disposal exercise was carried out in strategic cooperation with several agencies, including the Selangor Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK), the Public Works Department (JKR) and Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), to ensure the process followed legal procedures.
