Resorts World Genting Partners Denza Sime Motors For EV Deployment In Highlands Operations

GENTING HIGHLANDS, May 20 (Bernama) -- Resorts World Genting (RWG) has collaborated with Denza Sime Motors to introduce electric vehicle (EV) units into its Genting Highlands operations as part of its sustainability initiative.

Denza Sime Motors is the authorised dealer for Denza in Malaysia under Sime Darby Beyond Auto (SDBA), a subsidiary of Sime Darby Motors.

RWG executive vice president of sales, marketing, and public relations, Spencer Lee, said the move underscored the importance of adopting cleaner transportation alternatives within the integrated resort.

“The collaboration also includes marketing activation support, and begins with the introduction of the three Denza D9 EV shuttle units, and this marks an important milestone in RWG’s sustainability journey,” he said during the vehicle handover ceremony here today.

Lee said investment was involved in the EV initiative, including supporting infrastructure, such as charging stations, but declined to disclose the amount as the project remains a work in progress.

“The initiative reflects RWG’s ongoing commitment towards reducing carbon emissions and supporting greener mobility solutions in line with its broader sustainability vision,” he said.

The move was also aimed at promoting nature-based tourism products such as Genting Nature Adventures and Eufloria Gardens and Sculpture Park, described as Malaysia’s largest greenhouse ecotourism product.

Denza Sime Motors’ head of retail, Bea Kwang Tat, said the company was honoured that RWG had chosen the Denza D9 for its shuttle service.

“We believe the vehicles will elevate the overall guest experience in line with the resort’s positioning.

“This handover marks the beginning of a longer journey, as we continue to grow our presence in Malaysia and deliver outstanding products and services that our customers can trust,” he said.
