KUALA LUMPUR, May 17 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds expected in the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Labuan, and 10 other states, until 12 midnight today.
According to a MetMalaysia statement, adverse weather conditions are expected to hit Perlis and Kedah, involving Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Padang Terap and Pendang.
In Perak, the affected areas are Hilir Perak, Batang Padang and Muallim, while in Kelantan, the warning covers the entire state.
For Terengganu, the affected areas are Besut and Setiu, while in Pahang, the warning involves Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Jerantut and Bentong.
In Selangor, the areas include Sabak Bernam, Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Hulu Langat, while Jelebu in Negeri Sembilan is also in the list.
MetMalaysia said the same warning has also been issued for several areas in Sarawak, including Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sibu (Kanowit and Selangau), Mukah (Dalat and Mukah), Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Limbang.
In Sabah, the affected areas include Pedalaman, Pantai Barat (Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu and Ranau), Tawau, as well as Sandakan (Tongod and Telupid).
