ARAU, May 16 (Bernama) -- Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) ranked third among 20 public universities nationwide after achieving a 99.4 per cent Graduate Employability Rate for 2025.
UniMAP vice-chancellor Datuk Prof Dr Zaliman Sauli said the achievement also placed the university at the top among the Malaysian Technical University Network (MTUN).
He said the feat showed the confidence of industry and society in hiring UniMAP graduates, especially in the electrical and electronics sectors.
"This figure is not merely a statistic but reflects the trust of the industry and the country's entire employment sector in our graduates.
"Out of the 20 public universities, UniMAP ranks third behind UTM (Universiti Teknologi Malaysia) in first and UPNM (Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia) in second," he said.
Zaliman spoke to reporters after the closing ceremony of the 13th Perlis International Engineering Invention & Innovation Exhibition (Pi-ENVEX) 2026 at UniMAP here today.
The event was graced by the Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, who is also the UniMAP Chancellor. Also in attendance was the Raja Puan Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Dr Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil, who is the Pro-Chancellor.
Zaliman congratulated all parties, especially the faculties, for providing up-to-date academic content that meets industry needs and thanked industry players for employing the university's graduates.
This year's Pi-ENVEX, in its 13th edition, featured 221 local and international products across primary, secondary schools, university, and international categories. Participants came from countries including Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan, Romania, and Palestine.
