16/05/2026 11:53 PM

MADRID, May 16 (Bernama-dpa) -- Robert Lewandowski's time at Barcelona is almost over, with the Spanish champions not offering the former Bayern Munich striker a new contract for next season, German Press Agency (dpa) reported.

Barcelona posted on social media on Saturday: "Came as a star, leaves as legend."

The Poland international played four years for Barcelona and won the Spanish league title three times. It is still unclear what the 37-year-old will do next.

"After four years full of challenges and hard work, it's time to move on. I leave with the feeling that the mission is complete. 4 seasons, 3 championships," the FIFA men's best player 2020 and 2021 wrote on social media.

"I will never forget the love I received from the fans from my very first days. Catalonia is my place on earth."

Lewandowski has scored 13 goals so far this season. Two matchdays remain in Spain's La Liga. Barcelona play Real Betis on Sunday.
