IPOH, May 15 (Bernama) -- The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, and the Raja Permaisuri of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim, today graced the dinner in conjunction with the 55th National Teachers’ Day Celebration at Hotel Casuarina here.
Also in attendance were the Raja Muda of Perak, Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa, and the Raja Di Hilir of Perak, Raja Iskandar Dzulkarnain Sultan Idris Shah.
Their Royal Highnesses arrived at 8.36 pm and were accompanied by Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad and his wife Datin Seri Aezer Zubin.
Also present were Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek, Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh and Education Ministry secretary-general Datuk Wan Hashim Wan Rahim.
In her speech, Fadhlina said that in facing rapid global changes, the national education system must move forward with courage and foresight to remain relevant and capable of meeting future needs.
“As such, the Malaysia Education Blueprint (RPM) 2026-2035 represents the Education Ministry’s continued commitment to bringing the national education system to a better level and ensuring preparedness in facing new challenges.
“The RPM 2026-2035 framework places emphasis on mastery of knowledge, character building, mastery of emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), as well as strengthening bilingual proficiency,” she said.
Fadhlina said through the progressive School Curriculum 2027, the Malay language and History subjects would continue to be strengthened as the foundation of national identity, while access to early childhood education from the age of five would also be expanded.
“All these efforts are driven by the determination to ensure the national education system remains relevant, progressive and capable of providing equal opportunities to all Malaysians, so that the light of knowledge continues to illuminate the future of the nation,” she said.
