MOSCOW, May 5 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- All four airports in the Russian capital Moscow suspended operations on Tuesday due to the threat of Ukrainian drone attacks, according to airport authorities, Anadolu Ajansi reported.
Airport press services announced the restrictions in separate statements, adding that flight schedules may be adjusted.
It was noted that the restrictions were imposed due to the activation of the "Kover plan," which provides for the complete closure of airspace to all aircraft, with rare exceptions.
Restrictions were announced by Vnukovo, Domodedovo, Zhukovsky, and Sheremetyevo airports.
Additionally, mobile internet has been disabled in Moscow starting today. Russian authorities announced the restrictions on Monday.
A government statement noted that the restrictions were imposed in connection with the festive events marking the celebration of Victory Day in World War II.
The restrictions were tightened after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reportedly warned at the European Political Community summit in Yerevan on Monday that Ukrainian drones could fly into the parade on Red Square in Moscow on May 9.
