KUALA LUMPUR, May 2 (Bernama) -- Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) today unveiled the TERAS Election System, an integrated artificial intelligence (AI)-powered platform designed to enhance the party’s election preparedness and operational efficiency ahead of the next electoral cycle.
In a statement, PKR said the system conceived by its Deputy President Nurul Izzah Anwar, is a data-driven election campaign operating system developed to support the entire party's campaign ecosystem, from voter data management to the execution of fieldwork and targeted communications.
It said the system is designed as a lasting institutional backbone for the party, built not for a single election cycle but to endure beyond individuals and leadership transitions.
“TERAS represents a foundational contribution to PKR’s future, ensuring that the party’s organisational strength, data assets and strategic capabilities remain intact and continue to evolve long after any one generation has passed.
“With the integration of technology and AI at its core, the system enables a more structured, responsive and data-driven approach to campaigning - albeit with the caveat that every party’s success very much depends on its traction and relevance with the rakyat’s everyday concerns,” said the party.
PKR shared that pilot tests conducted last month at two locations indicated strong potential in mapping voter sentiment, although improvements are still needed in areas such as automatic data validation.
The system also demonstrated high responsiveness during testing, with developers able to address technical issues quickly, allowing campaign managers to focus more on strategic planning and on-the-ground mobilisation rather than administrative processes.
However, the party noted that achieving the 'Minimum Training Objective' remains critical to ensure the system can be used effectively by grassroots machinery without requiring extensive technical expertise.
“With the launch of TERAS, PKR moves forward with clear determination: to combine the strength of our values with the capabilities of technology and our machinery, building a political movement that is more organised, responsive and ready to face future challenges,” read the statement.
