MADINAH, April 21 (Bernama) -- Amid the busy task of looking after the welfare and well-being of propsective Malaysian haj pilgrims, Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) personnel held Solat Hajat (special prayer of needs) and a Yasin recitation as part of their spiritual preparations to strengthen morale and readiness throughout the 2026 haj season.

The event, held at the TH headquarters at Zaha Taiba Building here last night, was attended by more than 40 TH haj personnel, ahead of the arrival of thousands more Malaysian pilgrims to Islam’s second holiest city.

Head of the Malaysian Haj Delegation, Mohd Hisham Harun, said the spiritual programme is important as a source of strength for personnel in carrying out their responsibility of serving the dhuyufurrahman (guests of Allah).

“Besides seeking blessings and smooth operations, this gathering serves as a platform to strengthen brotherhood and enhance the spiritual resilience of personnel in delivering the best service to pilgrims,” he said.

The event began with congregational Maghrib prayers and Solat Hajat, followed by a Yasin recitation led by Madinah guidance and ziarah manager Mohamad Zahir Husin, as well as a ‘tazkirah’ (religious talk) by Holy Land haj facilitator (PIHTAS) Saiful Nizam.

The programme was held as haj operations in Madinah are actively underway, with TH personnel continuing to focus on the welfare and movement of pilgrims before they proceed to Makkah.

The 2026 haj operations officially began on April 18, involving a total of 31,600 prospective Malaysian pilgrims who will travel in stages to Madinah and Makkah via chartered flights operated by AMAL by Malaysia Airlines and Saudia Airlines.
