LABUAN, April 20 (Bernama) -- Labuan Member of Parliament Datuk Dr Suhaili Abdul Rahman has retained his position as president of the Malaysian Malay Chamber of Commerce (DPMM) Labuan branch after being returned unopposed at its annual general meeting (AGM) on Sunday (April 19).
The AGM also saw the formation of a new leadership line-up to steer the chamber’s agenda in strengthening the role of Malay entrepreneurs and enhancing business opportunities on the island.
Mohd Ismi Farizal Mohamad Ishak was elected as deputy president, while Mohammad Khairul Abdul Ghani assumed the post of vice-president.
The committee members appointed are Azizie Mohd Yusoph, Noridawati Abdul Ghani, Arjuna Yusop, Junaidi Abdullah, Sumiaty Lawa Said, Adnan Talipudin, Mohamad Zulismail Jahri, Mohamad Norizam Mohamad Don, and Hashimah Karim.
Suhaili’s unopposed return reflects strong confidence among members in his leadership, particularly in advancing the chamber’s role in supporting local businesses and promoting economic development in Labuan.
Suhaili said the chamber is expected to continue focusing on empowering small and medium enterprises (SMEs), facilitating business networking, and strengthening collaboration with government agencies and industry stakeholders to further enhance Labuan’s position as a competitive business and financial hub.
