BUKIT KAYU HITAM, March 25 (Bernama) -- Seven foreign nationals were denied entry into the country after failing to comply with entry requirements at the Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security (ICQS) Complex here yesterday.
Bukit Kayu Hitam Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) commander SAC Mohd Nasarudin Md Nasir said a Cambodian woman in her 30s was refused entry at 11.30am after providing doubtful and inconsistent travel information.
He said similar action was taken at about 11pm against six men from India, in their 40s, for failing to provide a credible purpose of travel to Immigration officers.
“Further checks found they possessed invalid flight tickets and attempted to mislead officers by claiming they did not know one another.
“However, investigations revealed that all of them held flight tickets with the same date and time,” he said in a statement today.
He added that all seven individuals were issued Notices of Refusal of Entry in accordance with immigration laws, before further action was taken based on standard operating procedures (SOPs).
“We will not compromise with any individual who fails to comply with the country’s entry requirements, to ensure the safety and sovereignty of our borders are preserved,” he said.
