KUALA LUMPUR, March 25 (Bernama) -- A world-class tribute performance honouring legendary music icon Elvis Presley will be staged in Malaysia on April 11, featuring acclaimed US tribute artist Bill Cherry at the Kristal Ballroom, Hilton Petaling Jaya.
Titled Elvis in Malaysia, the event is organised by Australia-based Rani Serena Promotions and is set to draw music fans across generations with a premium dinner-and-cabaret experience, accompanied by international band Os Pombos.
In a statement, the organiser said Cherry made history in 2009 as the first performer to win the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Championship in both Tupelo, Mississippi, Presley’s birthplace, and Memphis, Tennessee, widely regarded as the spiritual home of the late music legend.
The performance is positioned as a premium entertainment showcase rather than a conventional tribute show, highlighting Cherry’s vocal precision, striking resemblance and stage authenticity.
“The production will feature concert era renditions of Presley’s iconic hits, including Suspicious Minds, Can't Help Falling in Love and Burning Love, supported by authentic wardrobe and curated stage styling,” the statement read.
Highlighting the enduring cultural significance of Presley’s legacy, the organiser said performing Elvis is about preserving a musical heritage with lasting global impact, while offering audiences an immersive live experience that comes close to witnessing the legend in person.
Beyond its entertainment value, the event will also support the Dignity for Children Foundation, reflecting efforts to combine premium lifestyle experiences with meaningful contributions to education and community development.
