KUALA LUMPUR, March 11 (Bernama) -- The Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia, in collaboration with Jakel Group, celebrated 25 orphans and asnaf from the Pertubuhan Kebajikan dan Perlindungan Nur Qaseh Malaysia through a ‘Shopping Raya’ programme in preparation for Aidilfitri celebration.

SEDA Malaysia, in a statement today, said that the Tautan Kasih 2026 programme, which took place at Jakel Mall yesterday, was part of the agency’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

Through the annual activity, the children were given the opportunity to choose a set of festive attire as part of their preparations to celebrate Aidilfitri.

SEDA Malaysia chief executive officer Datuk Hamzah Hussin said the programme was organised to share joy and foster a spirit of togetherness in celebrating Aidilfitri.

“This programme is an initiative by SEDA Malaysia to reach out to the children of the Pertubuhan Kebajikan dan Perlindungan Nur Qaseh Malaysia, so that they too can experience the vibrancy of Ramadan, while also nurturing the practice of charity during this blessed month,” he said.

“We are honoured to be able to go to the ground to engage with and assist those in need by providing direct benefits to the recipients of today’s ‘Shopping Raya’ programme,” he said in the same statement.

In addition to clothing, SEDA Malaysia also provided goodies and ‘duit raya’ to help ease the recipients’ burden in preparing for the upcoming Aidilfitri, while bringing joy to them.

The contribution to the children of the Pertubuhan Kebajikan dan Perlindungan Nur Qaseh Malaysia was presented by Jakel Group managing director Datuk Seri Mohamed Faroz Mohamed Jakel.

Also present were SEDA Malaysia chief operating officer Koh Keng Sen, Jakel Group managing director Datuk Mohamed Nizam Mohamed Jakel, as well as SEDA Malaysia’s division heads.
