KUALA LUMPUR, March 11 (Bernama) -- Movellus announced its adaptive clocking technology has been integrated into the Synopsys Silicon Lifecycle Management (SLM) IP portfolio, addressing power optimisation challenges in complex artificial intelligence (AI)-era chips.

The Synopsys SLM Advanced Clock Generator (ACG) IP enables real-time power management, allowing power architects to dynamically adjust System-on-Chip (SoC) performance and power based on environmental and workload changes. This collaboration expands customer access to Movellus technology through Synopsys’ global channels.

Movellus chief operating officer, Vikram Karvat in a statement, highlighted that combining Synopsys’ sensor portfolio with Movellus’ clocking IP creates a comprehensive platform for power, thermal, and performance optimisation, benefiting mutual customers.

Meanwhile, Synopsys vice president of SLM product management, Steve Pateras said the integration provides a sophisticated, real-time solution to optimise power efficiency amid increasing AI and hyperscale workloads.

The Synopsys ACG IP delivers ultra-fast adaptive clocking, extensive programmability, and advanced telemetry for droop mitigation and dynamic frequency scaling (DFS)/dynamic voltage and frequency scaling (DVFS) applications.

Movellus continues to advance high-performance silicon through feature-rich IP. The Aeonic IP platform has been integrated by multiple customers across various process nodes, with applications ranging from performance-centric cloud data centre compute and AI offerings to ultra-low power edge AI devices.

This milestone broadens access to Movellus technology which, when combined with the Synopsys SLM solutions, will attract a wider customer base for advanced SoCs, AI accelerators, and processors.

Synopsys is showcasing the SLM ACG IP at the Synopsys User Group (SNUG) during Synopsys Converge 2026, held March 11 to 12 in Santa Clara, California.
