KLUANG, March 5 (Bernama) -- For the third consecutive year, Chinese couple Chee Sur Wing, 33, and Rita Too Wan Er, 32, have won hearts by helping Muslim friends celebrate Raya in style without straining their budgets.
Having sold complete Raya sets with samping for as low as RM50 in the past two years, the couple has this year added a modern twist by offering affordable kurta from just RM10.
Chee said the ‘Rahmah’ price initiative was introduced to help low-income families, particularly those in the B40 category, celebrate Aidilfitri with new clothes at affordable prices.

“My wife and I just want to help the B40 community, especially low- and middle-income households, so they too can feel the joy of Hari Raya Aidilfitri with new attire.
“The RM10 kurta is meant for personal use only, not for selling at bazaars or stores, to ensure our goal of helping those who need it most is truly achieved,” he said when met at his factory in Taman Sri Kluang.
According to Chee, the response was overwhelming, with more than 20,000 pairs of baju raya sold last year alone, including baju Melayu Cekak Musang, baju Melayu Johor (Teluk Belanga), baju kurung, baju kebaya and kurta.

He said that despite the low prices offered, quality remained a priority, with fabrics such as satin and Como Crepe used, along with durable yarn that does not unravel easily.
Chee added that for now, their market is mainly focused on residents around Kluang, while the public is welcome to visit their factory in Taman Sri Kluang, which is open daily except Sundays.
Apart from Raya clothes, the couple also produces a variety of corporate clothing for men and women at affordable prices, while actively participating in charitable activities with non-governmental organizations and elected representatives.
