Emirates Resumes Flights At Dubai International Airport After Brief Suspension

ISTANBUL, March 7 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- The Emirates airline on Saturday resumed flights at Dubai International Airport, shortly after declaring a temporary suspension, Anadolu Ajansi (AA) reported.

Dubai Media Office said in a statement on Saturday that Emirates airline will resume its operations this Saturday afternoon.

The Emirates airline also said in a post on X that it is resuming operations, confirming that passengers with confirmed bookings for flights departing this afternoon can head to the airport.

It added that this also applies to transit passengers travelling through Dubai, provided their onward flights are also operating.

Earlier, Dubai International Airport had temporarily suspended operations to ensure the safety of passengers, staff, and airline crews.

Emirati authorities denied that the airport had been attacked, confirming that relevant authorities had dealt with a “limited incident” that resulted in no injuries.

The denial followed social media claims that the airport had been targeted by drone attacks.

United Arab Emirates (UAE) authorities did not give further details of the nature of the incident or the duration of the suspension.

Iran has launched missiles and drones toward Israel and Gulf countries that hosted United States military assets since Feb 28.

Some of the attacks have caused casualties and damage to civilian sites, including ports and residential buildings.

Tehran says the attacks came in response to a US-Israeli military campaign against Iran that has killed hundreds of people, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and top military officials.
