KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 26 (Bernama) -- Kuala Lumpur World Trade Centre (WTCKL) Group managing director Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim has been appointed a Board Member of Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin (UniSIRAJ) from Jan 1 this year until Dec 31, 2027.

WTCKL, in a statement today, said the appointment was consented to and presented by the Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, at the Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs) Council Members and Committee Members’ Iftar gathering at a hotel here yesterday.

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin, who is also the MAIPs president, was accompanied by the Raja Puan Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Dr Hajjah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil.

In the statement, Irmohizam expressed his appreciation for the appointment and said he would fulfil his responsibilities to strengthen UniSIRAJ’s governance, sustainability and strategic planning.

“My aspiration is to help position UniSIRAJ as a progressive institution that bridges education, industry and community development,” he said.

Irmohizam said he also aimed to elevate UniSIRAJ onto the global stage and position it as a dynamic and forward-looking institution by strengthening its local and international visibility, expanding strategic collaborations and turning it into a progressive centre of knowledge.

Meanwhile, WTCKL believes Irmohizam’s extensive experience in corporate leadership, governance and the international business events industry will further strengthen strategic collaboration between the education and industry sectors, including the organisation of knowledge forums, business conferences, as well as Islamic economic and financial discourse.

UniSIRAJ, an entity under the governance of MAIPs, plays an important role in advancing Islamic education and institutional excellence in Perlis.
