KUANTAN, Feb 17 (Bernama) -- The construction of additional buildings and facilities at the Pahang Malaysia Sports School (SSMP) is set to create a more conducive learning and training environment for athletes, teachers and staff.
Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek, in a Facebook post today, said the project involves the construction of new dormitories, covered pavilions, open multipurpose halls, staff quarters, synthetic hockey pitches, training fields and various other facilities to meet the school’s growing needs.
“SSMP must continue to strive for excellence and produce more sports champions who will make the nation proud on the international stage.
“SSMP has already proven its strength in rugby. I have closely followed the progress of the ‘Falcons’ team, which won the prestigious Super Schools Rugby 2025 tournament at the national level and most recently emerged champions at the 2026 Asian Under-19 Sevens Rugby Championship,” she said.
Fadhlina expressed hope that SSMP would sustain its momentum and continue contributing significantly to the development of national sports.
