200 Delightful Dishes Await Diners At Concorde Hotel’s Ramadan Buffet

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 15 (Bernama) -- Concorde Hotel here is presenting around 200 dishes at its “Bila Rasa Berbicara” Ramadan buffet at the Melting Pot Café, with the highlight being the use of a Josper charcoal oven from Spain that adds rich aroma and flavour to the spread.

The use of the charcoal oven lends a modern touch to selected dishes, blending heritage flavours with contemporary techniques to enrich the breaking of fast experience.

The buffet also offers two rotating set menus, changed every two days, to ensure returning guests can look forward to a different selection of dishes throughout Ramadan.

Concorde Hotel’s Head of Malay Cuisine Mohamad Yusoff Abdul Hamid said this year’s concept retains customers’ favourite dishes from last Ramadan while introducing new elements to offer diners a broader range of choices.

“This year, we are keeping customers’ favourite dishes from last year and adding a few new touches, such as live carving of meats prepared in a Josper charcoal oven and a selection of Japanese dishes. We want our guests to have more choices and enjoy something different each time,” he told Bernama during a recent preview session.

Mohamad Yusoff said the Josper charcoal oven produces a richer smoky aroma and allows diners to watch the preparation and carving of the meat up close, while its specially designed charcoal ensures a balanced flavour without over-charring.

Drawing on over four decades of culinary experience, he said the buffet highlights heritage favourites such as Gulai Tunjang Masak Lemak Cili Api, Pucuk Paku Masak Ikan Bilis, Sambal Tumis Udang Petai, Asam Pedas Tetel and Siput Sedut Masak Lemak, evoking nostalgic flavours cherished by many.

According to him, the buffet also features a range of desserts such as Onde-Onde and Popiah Berinti Ais Krim Kacang, alongside ABC Ais Kacang and Tau Foo Fah, with about 40 kitchen crew managing operations during the holy month.

The “Bila Rasa Berbicara” buffet is priced at RM198 per person, with a special rate of RM178 per person on selected dates from Feb 19 to 22 and March 18 to 20, while children aged six to 11 enjoy a 50 per cent discount.
