6.0-magnitude Quake Hits Samoa, Fiji Islands

BEIJING, Feb 11 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 jolted 136 km SSW of Gataivai, Samoa at 2114 GMT on Tuesday, the US Geological Survey said, reported Xinhua.

The epicentre, with a depth of 49.5 km, was initially determined to be at 14.91 degrees south latitude and 172.88 degrees west longitude. 

USGS also reported an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 jolted Fiji Islands at 2044 GMT on Tuesday.

The epicentre, with a depth of 515.3 km, was initially determined to be at 21.06 degrees south latitude and 178.18 degrees west longitude.
