Nurse’s Heartwarming Act Towards Elderly Patient Earns Minister’s Praise

BUTTERWORTH, Jan 25 (Bernama) -- A heartwarming act by a nurse feeding an elderly Indian patient, which recently went viral on social media, shows that compassion and humanity transcend differences in religion and belief.

The commendable actions of nurse Nur Deena Nadzhiefa caught the attention of Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, who presented her with an award during his visit to Seberang Jaya Hospital (HSJ) for the official opening of its new building yesterday.

Dzulkefly said the video deeply touched him and prompted him to meet the nurse in person.

“The award I am presenting is small compared with the compassion that Deena has shown. She has proven that the most effective remedy in a hospital is not only pills or injections, but care delivered with empathy.

“Thank you, Ms Deena, for embodying the spirit of ‘Malaysia’ in your daily duties. Your example will surely inspire us all,” he wrote on Facebook.
