SEPANG, Jan 16 (Bernama) -- Police have made progress in their investigations into the fatal shooting incident in Banting on Jan 4, said Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar.

However, he said police could not disclose further details for fear of jeopardising the investigations.

Shazeli urged the public to place full confidence in the police in resolving shooting cases in the state.

“Insya-Allah, once the investigations are concluded, we will share the information with the public,” he told reporters after the handover ceremony for the KLIA district police chief here today.

On Jan 4, a man was shot dead at a fast-food restaurant in Banting.

At the ceremony, ACP Ravi Munusamy was appointed the new KLIA district police chief, replacing SAC Azman Shari'at, who has been appointed principal assistant director of management (Training, Examinations and Competency) at Bukit Aman.
