Number Of Flood Evacuees Drop Slightly In Sabah, Sarawak This Evening

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 11 (Bernama) -- The number of flood evacuees at relief centres in Sarawak and Sabah dropped slightly as of 4 pm today.

In SARAWAK, 29 centres remain open, housing 2,802 evacuees from 864 families compared to 41 centres with 3,890 people from 1,175 families at 8 am as eleven relief centres in  Samarahan, Gedong, Siburan and Balai Ringin closed today.

While the number of evacuees dropped overall, there were several locations that registered increases, including centres at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Krusen in Serian, Dewan Suarah and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Sebauh in Bintulu.

In SABAH, there are 366 people from 138 families as of 4 pm compared to 367 people from 137 families this morning.

From the total, 328 people from 123 families are at Dewan Slagon, Bintulu while the remaining are at Dewan Sri Dayang Shahbandar, Padas Damit.
