29 Federal Roads In Kelantan Identified For Urgent Maintenance - JKR
KOTA BHARU, Dec 28 (Bernama) -- The Public Works Department (JKR) has identified 29 federal roads (FT) across nine districts in Kelantan that require urgent maintenance.
The districts are Kota Bharu, Machang, Pasir Puteh, Pasir Mas, Tanah Merah, Tumpat, Jeli, Bachok and Gua Musang.
Kelantan JKR director Nik Badlihisham Nik Ismail said that the roads required maintenance following damage, including potholes, caused by heavy rain brought by the northeast monsoon.
“The seven roads in Gua Musang that need maintenance are FT484 Jalan Kuala Betis; FT185 Jalan Gua Musang-Lojing; FT1741 Jalan Masuk Sungai Chiku 7 and 8; FT36 Jalan Chiku-Aring 5; FT1745 Jalan Penempatan Aring 5; FT1742 Jalan Chiku-Aring Felda Jalan Masuk Aring 2 and 3; and FT1743 Jalan Dalam LKP Aring 8 and 9.
“Six more roads are in Kota Bharu, namely FT3 Jalan Pasir Puteh-Kota Bharu; FT130 Jalan Wakaf Che Yeh-Salor-Pasir Mas; FT57 Jalan Kota Bharu-Pengkalan Chepa; FT8 Jalan Gua Musang-Kota Bharu; FT223 Jalan Pantai Cahaya Bulan; and FT207 Jalan Sultan Ismail Petra,” he told Bernama recently.
Nik Badlihisham said that four roads in Jeli were FT4 Jalan Gerik-Jeli; FT66 Jalan Sungai Sam-Jeli; FT202 Jalan Air Canal-Lakota; and FT204 Jalan Gemang-Kampung Labu, while in Tanah Merah the roads involved were FT199 Jalan Batu Gajah-Lawang; FT259 Jalan Sultan Ismail Petra; FT4 Jalan Machang-Jeli; and FT129 Tanah Merah Flyover.
He said the other roads were FT8 Jalan Gua Musang-Kota Bharu and FT4 Jalan Machang-Jeli in Machang; FT3 Jalan Kota Bharu-Kuala Terengganu and FT210 Jalan Pintas Pasir Puteh in Pasir Puteh; and FT3 Jalan Kota Bharu-Rantau Panjang and FT134 Jalan Kota Bharu-Pengkalan Kubor in Tumpat.
Nik Badlihisham said the other roads identified were FT196 Jalan Panglima Bayu-Rantau Panjang in Pasir Mas and FT211 Jalan Kubang Kerian-Bachok in Bachok.
He added that Kelantan JKR would consult with the Works Ministry on the maintenance work, including the estimated cost for the road repairs.
Nik Badlihisham urged motorists to exercise caution when driving on damaged roads and to obey the warning signs placed in the affected areas
