IPOH, Dec 24 (Bernama) -- The Ipoh City Council (MBI) has approved organising rights for six hawker associations, three residents’ associations, two mosque and surau committees, one hawker cooperative and two private agencies to manage Ramadan bazaars at 23 locations, involving a total of 1,587 trading lots, next year.

MBI said the presentation of approval letters and a briefing session on the organisation of the MBI Ramadan bazaars for next year were held on Dec 22. The session was chaired by MBI secretary Ahmad Munir Ishak and attended by MBI councillors.

MBI said the briefing was delivered by representatives from the MBI Public Health and City Services Department, the MBI Licensing Department, the Perak Social Security Organisation (Perkeso), Green Energy Asia Biofuel Resources, MySafe Food and Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad.

“Traders may contact the listed organisers if they are interested in operating at their preferred Ramadan bazaar. Applications should be submitted promptly as the number of trading lots at each location is limited,” MBI said in a statement.

“It is hoped that next year’s MBI Ramadan bazaars will operate smoothly, safely and in an orderly manner,” it added.
