HTAA To Use Mechanical Parking System To Ease Parking Woes

12/12/2025 08:57 PM

KUANTAN, Dec 12 (Bernama) -- Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital (HTAA) here will use a mechanical parking system to address the shortage of parking spaces at the health facility.

Pahang Public Works, Transport and Health Committee chairman Datuk Razali Kassim said the initiative was a temporary measure pending the construction of a permanent car park building equipped with the system.

“The Pahang State Health Department is working to provide 600 mechanical parking lots within the existing parking area, and discussions with the relevant parties are underway,” he told reporters after the handover of waiting chairs at the HTAA Emergency Department here today.

Previously, RM500,000 was allocated for preliminary work, including site surveys and the preparation of design proposals for the construction of an additional block at HTAA, which will house specialist clinics, an emergency department, and a multi-storey car park.

Commenting on the event today, Razali said the Pahang government provided 36 sets of beam seating, or 108 seats, to ensure the comfort of users at the HTAA Emergency Ward.

“After we were told about the matter, we took proactive steps by first sending 100 plastic chairs for patients and their next of kin before supplying the beam seating sets,” he said, while urging the public to take care of the facilities for everyone’s benefit.

A video recently went viral showing members of the public sitting on the floor while waiting at the hospital’s Emergency Department.
