KUALA LUMPUR, May 27 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is set to deliver a keynote address and officiate Energy Asia 2025, scheduled to take place on June 16 to 18 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
Themed ‘Delivering Asia’s Energy Transition’, Anwar will lead a delegation of Malaysian ministers, joined by their regional counterparts, policymakers, industry leaders and energy professionals, as well as leaders from the technology, financial and industrial communities.
In a statement today, Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) said that following the launch of Energy Asia, Anwar will participate in the opening plenary titled ‘Asia’s Energy Future’, chaired by S&P Global and CERAWeek founder Dr Daniel Yergin.
The session will focus on the impact of geopolitical dynamics, strategic alliances and risks, Malaysia’s vision as ASEAN chair and the country’s role in Asia’s energy transition.
Petronas president and group chief executive officer (CEO) and Energy Asia chairman Tan Sri Tengku Muhammad Taufik Tengku Aziz said that Petronas strongly believes a just and equitable energy transition can only be achieved through greater global cooperation across economies and industries.
“In this regard, we are indeed very privileged to welcome the Prime Minister to the second edition of the conference, with the opportunity to engage in progressive discourse on his aspirations for Asia’s sustainable and inclusive energy future, aligned with Malaysia’s role as ASEAN chair this year,” he said.
Energy Asia by Petronas and Knowledge Partner CERAWeek by S&P Global, aims to advance the region’s net-zero ambitions through actionable solutions for a just energy transition.
