KLCI Futures Close Higher

KUALA LUMPUR, May 4 (Bernama) -- The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed higher in line with the steady performance of the cash market.

The new spot month of May 2026, as well as June 2026 and September 2026 contracts, all rose 24.5 points to 1,744.0, 1,743.50, and 1,725.50, respectively. The new distant month of December 2026 stood at 1,730.0.

Turnover tumbled to 9,260 lots from 11,310 lots on Thursday last week, while open interest narrowed to 39,171 contracts from 43,924 contracts previously.

At 5 pm, the FBM KLCI rose 17.75 points, or 1.03 per cent, to close at 1,739.77 from last Thursday’s close of 1,722.02.
