OTC Markets Taps JP Chan To Lead APAC Operations Amid Regional Growth

KUALA LUMPUR, May 4 (Bernama) -- OTC Markets Group, an operator of regulated markets for more than 12,000 United States (US) and international securities, has appointed JP Chan as Senior Vice President and Regional Head for Asia-Pacific (APAC) as it expands its presence in the region.

Chan will be based in Hong Kong, where he will lead the regional team and work with issuers, market participants and investors to access US capital markets.

OTC Markets Group President and Chief Executive Officer, Cromwell Coulson said the expansion reflects rising demand for cross-border capital access.

“Establishing a permanent presence in Hong Kong, with a team led by JP Chan, is how we make that connection work at the scale this market demands,” he said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Chan said there has never been a more direct path for companies in this region to reach US investors, adding that his role is to help issuers connect to the US market while supporting investors in accessing global opportunities.

He will lead a regional team at OTC Markets, responsible for issuer development, partner engagement, and data distribution as demand for cross-border market intelligence continues to grow.

Chan has more than two decades of experience in Hong Kong, building institutional relationships with chief financial officers, investor relations officers and capital markets professionals across Asia-Pacific.

He most recently served as Sales Director at Visible Alpha, covering Greater China and ASEAN, and previously held senior roles at IHS Markit, S&P Capital IQ, Dealogic, and Thomson Reuters.

The Hong Kong office will also support OTC Markets’ overnight trading strategy, with trading volumes on its MOON ATS platform rising sharply in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the fourth quarter of last year.
