Ascend Airways Malaysia Unaffected By UK Unit's Wind-down

KUALA LUMPUR, April 29 (Bernama) -- Ascend Airways Malaysia Sdn Bhd has clarified that its operations remain unaffected by developments involving its United Kingdom (UK)-based counterpart, Ascend Airways Ltd.

In its official Linkedln post today, the airline said Ascend Airways Malaysia is a separate legal and financial entity from Ascend Airways Ltd in the UK and continues to operate as usual.

“Ascend Airways Malaysia remains operationally stable, continues to meet all its contractual obligations and is progressing on-track with communicated expansion plans,” it said.

The clarification follows recent reports on Ascend Airways Ltd, which has undertaken a voluntary and controlled wind-down of its operations, including the surrender of its UK Air Operator Certificate.

The airline said the decision reflects external market pressures and structural challenges and has been executed with full regulatory compliance and minimal disruption to stakeholders.

Ascend Airways Malaysia is a Malaysia-based airline and part of the global aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance (ACMI) provider, Avia Solutions Group.

Avia Solutions Group is a global aviation services group, comprising over 200 subsidiaries worldwide that provide a broad range of aviation solutions.

“The group continues to take proactive measures to adapt to current market conditions while strengthening and optimising its platform for long-term growth,” the airline added.
