Anaqua Expands IP Management Platform With Patrix Acquisition

KUALA LUMPUR, April 29 (Bernama) -- Anaqua, an innovation and intellectual property (IP) management technology and services provider, has announced the acquisition of Patrix, welcoming about 400 IP management software (IPMS) customers into its client community.

In a statement, Anaqua said the acquisition further expands its law firm and European presence, building on its 2025 purchase of RightHub as it continues to serve IP professionals across corporations and law firms through continued innovation, expanded service offerings, and global scale.

Anaqua chief executive officer, Justin Crotty said Patrix has earned the trust of IP professionals over decades and brings a loyal customer base along with deep IP technology and law firm expertise.

He added that Patrix customers will gain access to Anaqua’s broader capabilities, including global hosting and security infrastructure, foreign filing, patent and trademark renewals, docketing services, and artificial intelligence (AI)-driven workflow tools and analytics.

Meanwhile, Patrix founder and majority owner, Carina Roth Schramm said both organisations share strong cultural alignment, underpinned by a software-led heritage and client-centric philosophy, expressing confidence that customer needs will continue to be met going forward.

Patrix’s Patricia platform has served its law firm-centric customer base for 30 years and is currently used by nearly 400 customers, including some of the world’s largest IP law firms.

Anaqua said it will continue supporting and developing the Patricia product roadmap while integrating selected features into its broader platform. It also confirmed that customers will retain access to existing services, including renewals, without interruption.

In addition, Anaqua is offering Patrix clients optional access to its AI-native platform as their needs evolve, providing flexibility alongside continued support for current systems.
