EcoWorld Unit Disposes Of Industrial Land In Johor For RM280.8 Mln
KUALA LUMPUR, April 24 (Bernama) -- Eco World Development Group Bhd’s unit, Eco Business Park 6 Sdn Bhd, has sold two parcels of industrial land in Kulai, Iskandar Malaysia, Johor, to KNBDC Malaysia Five Sdn Bhd for RM280.8 million.
EcoWorld president and chief executive officer Datuk Chang Khim Wah said KNBDC, which bought the last two parcels of industrial land, totalling 20.07 hectares at the QUANTUM Edge industrial park, will be joining Microsoft and Princeton Digital Group, making this one of the largest digital and high-tech hubs by a private developer in Malaysia.
He said that, in addition to being a strong vote of confidence in the suitability of their business parks as ideal locations for hyperscale data centre operations, it also serves as a true indication of the ongoing appeal of Iskandar Malaysia as a premier investment destination for discerning global and regional investors.
“Over the years, the visionary initiatives of the federal and Johor state governments, backed by comprehensive efforts to improve both physical and digital infrastructure, have attracted substantial local and foreign direct investments to the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), where QUANTUM Edge is situated.
“These massive investments have fostered the creation of a complete ecosystem which has transformed the JS-SEZ into a top-tier digital and high-tech hub, capable of sustaining and attracting ever-increasing interest from market-leading players,” he said in a statement.
The developer said the deal builds on EcoWorld’s strong start to financial year 2026 (FY2026), with 52 per cent of the group’s full-year sales target achieved in the first four months of the financial year.
During this period, industrial sales contributed 36 per cent to cumulative sales.
“Following the sale to KNBDC, total industrial sales for FY2026 are set to further increase, demonstrating the strong and growing demand for the group’s industrial products under both its Eco Business Park and QUANTUM revenue pillars, as well as the continued resilience of this market segment,” it said.
