Fortinet Expands Local SASE Infrastructure In Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, April 23 (Bernama) -- Fortinet, a global cybersecurity leader, has reaffirmed its long-term commitment to Malaysia through the deployment of its Malaysia-based Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) Point-of-Presence (PoP).

The local deployment of SASE PoP enables secure, high-performance connectivity for enterprises and hybrid workforces, helping organisations maintain consistent security enforcement with low latency as they adopt distributed and cloud-based operating models.

Vishak Raman, Fortinet’s vice-president of sales, India, SAARC, Southeast Asia and Australia and New Zealand, said the company’s continued investments in Malaysia reflect Fortinet’s commitment to strengthening cyber resilience through local infrastructure and long-term ecosystem support.

“As organisations across the region embrace distributed work and cloud adoption, we are focused on building a strong foundation that enables customers and partners to innovate securely while supporting Malaysia’s broader digital transformation ambitions,” he said in a statement today.

The Malaysia SASE PoP forms part of Fortinet’s sustained investment in cloud security infrastructure across Southeast Asia, supporting Malaysia’s MADANI vision and national digital economy agenda.

By bringing security enforcement closer to users and applications, the deployment helps organisations improve performance, simplify operations, and strengthen cyber resilience as digital transformation accelerates.

Fortinet country manager for Malaysia, Kevin Wong said Malaysia’s digital economy is accelerating across both public and private sectors, unlocking new opportunities alongside more complex cyber risks.

“Fortinet’s investment in local SASE infrastructure aligns with the Malaysia MADANI cybersecurity initiatives to support the development of a Sovereign Artificial Intelligence (AI) Cloud, enabling organisations to modernise securely,” he added.

The local PoP complements Fortinet’s established presence in Kuala Lumpur and reinforces confidence in the long-term growth of Malaysia’s cybersecurity ecosystem.

The company noted that as organisations expand hybrid work strategies and cloud adoption, local infrastructure plays a critical role in delivering consistent, secure access while supporting evolving regulatory and compliance requirements.
