Xsolla Report Highlights New Growth Opportunities In Global Gaming

KUALA LUMPUR, March 12 (Bernama) -- Xsolla, a global video game commerce company, has released the latest edition of The Xsolla Report, offering insights into emerging opportunities in the gaming industry.

The report was issued to coincide with industry activations and collaborations taking place this week in San Francisco.

According to Xsolla in a statement, the gaming industry remains highly dynamic as studios adjust their commercial strategies amid rising development budgets and player acquisition costs.

The company said studios that adopt direct-to-player commerce models, expand into fast-growing markets and leverage artificial intelligence (AI) are positioning themselves for long-term growth.

Xsolla President, Chris Hewish said the economics of game development are evolving rapidly as traditional publishing models face increasing pressure.

He noted that companies that recognise these shifts early will gain a competitive advantage.

The report highlights several key trends shaping the industry, including growing adoption of direct-to-consumer web shops; expansion opportunities in high-growth markets such as Turkey, India and Southeast Asia; as well as increasing use of AI to accelerate development timelines and reduce operational costs.

It also notes the rising influence of cross-platform gamers who play across consoles, personal computers and mobile devices, creating new distribution and engagement opportunities for developers.

The report also outlines a clear roadmap for what leaders should prioritise next: building for modularity and faster development cycles, investing in owned audience infrastructure, and turning compliance into a competitive advantage as global markets open up.
