FGV Holdings Names Abu Huraira Non-independent, Non-executive Chairman

KUALA LUMPUR, March 2 (Bernama) -- FGV Holdings Bhd has appointed Datuk Abu Huraira Abu Yazid as its non-independent, non-executive chairman, effective March 2, 2026.

In a statement, FGV said Abu Huraira brings 50 years of experience across sectors including financial services, logistics, social security, rehabilitation, oil and gas, and manpower development.

"With extensive expertise in banking operations, risk management and financial governance, he has held senior positions in Malaysia’s financial institutions," the statement said.

Abu Huraira currently chairs Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia (PIDM), MISC Bhd, Human Resource Development Corporation, AET Pte Ltd, and Malaysian Maritime Academy Sdn Bhd.

He holds a Bachelor of Economics (Business Management) from Universiti Malaya and previously served as chairman of the Social Security Organisation (SOCSO), chairman of Pusat Rehabilitasi PERKESO Sdn Bhd, and executive director of Pos Malaysia Bhd.
