Berjaya Land’s Net Loss Widens To RM121.76 Mln In 2Q FY2026

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 24 (Bernama) -- Berjaya Land Bhd posted a wider net loss of RM121.76 million for the second quarter ended Dec 31, 2025 (2Q FY2026), compared with a net loss of RM33.93 million in the previous corresponding quarter.

In a Bursa Malaysia filing, Berjaya Land attributed the widening of its losses to lower contributions from its hotels and resorts segment as well as unfavourable foreign currency translation effects.

Revenue, however, increased by two per cent to RM1.77 billion from RM1.73 billion a year ago, driven by higher revenue from its subsidiary and higher property progress billings.

For the first six months of FY2026, Berjaya Land said its net loss widened further to RM116.23 million from RM31.16 million, while revenue increased to RM3.66 billion from RM3.50 billion in the previous corresponding period.

On prospects, the group said its domestic business segments are expected to improve on the back of resilient consumer spending and sustained tourism growth.

“Notwithstanding the aforesaid and barring any unforeseen circumstances, the directors are cautiously optimistic that the performance of the business operations of the group for the remaining quarters of FY2026 ending June 30, 2026, will be satisfactory,” it added.
