1X World Model Enables NEO Humanoid Robot To Self-Learn Tasks

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 13 (Bernama) -- 1X Technologies announced the launch of the 1X World Model, a major artificial intelligence update for its NEO humanoid robot that allows the system to turn any prompt into autonomous action.

The model leverages internet-scale video data, grounded in real-world physics, to perform tasks with objects and environments it has never encountered before, marking a significant step toward robots that can teach themselves.

1X Chief Executive Officer and Founder, Bernt Børnich said NEO can now learn from internet-scale video and apply that knowledge directly to the physical world.

“This marks the starting point of NEO’s ability to teach itself to master nearly anything you could ask,” he said in a statement.

With the update, NEO can interpret voice or text commands, generate visualisations of potential actions, and execute them with precise movements. Demonstrations show NEO handling tasks from packing a lunchbox to operating a toilet seat, ironing a shirt, or brushing a human’s hair—without prior examples.

The 1X World Model enables NEO to collect its own data and continuously improve, overcoming traditional limitations in humanoid robotics that rely on human-operated training datasets. The system also maintains robust performance in dynamic environments, navigating changes in lighting, clutter, and unpredictable scenarios.

NEO is available in tan, grey, and dark brown via 1X’s online store. Early Access is priced at US$20,000 with priority delivery in 2026, and a subscription model is available for US$499 per month. (US$1=RM4.05)
