JPG Consolidates JPG Greenergy Ventures, Strengthens Renewable Energy Strategy

JOHOR BAHRU, Dec 23 (Bernama) — Johor Plantations Group Bhd (JPG) has enhanced its strategic position in the renewable energy (RE) sector by consolidating JPG Greenergy Ventures Sdn Bhd (JPGGV) as a wholly owned subsidiary.

In a statement, JPG announced that this consolidation followed the execution of a share sale agreement to acquire the remaining 45 per cent equity interest in JPGGV from MTC Orec Sdn Bhd.

JPGGV, which was established in 2019, serves as the group’s primary platform for RE initiatives, including biomethane production, biogas upgrading, and converting palm oil by-products into low-carbon energy solutions.

Full ownership allows the group to have a clearer strategic direction and greater operational control over the development and scaling of its bioenergy portfolio.

This consolidation enables JPG to streamline execution, optimise capital allocation, and integrate RE initiatives more effectively into its core plantation operations.

“The move also strengthens the group’s alignment with Malaysia’s energy transition agenda and national net-zero ambitions while supporting long-term value creation through lower carbon intensity and diversified revenue streams.

“We will continue to evaluate opportunities to expand our RE and bioenergy capabilities, in line with our long-term sustainability and growth strategy,” the statement added.
