KLCI Futures Close Sharply Higher, Tracking Cash Market Gains

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 19 (Bernama) -- The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended sharply higher today, tracking gains in the underlying cash market.

At the close, the December 2025 contract gained 22.0 points to 1,668.50, January 2026 advanced 21.5 points to 1,672.0, March 2026 added 20.0 points to 1,655.50 and June 2026 rose 26.5 points to 1,662.50.

Turnover increased to 8,711 lots from 7,193 on Thursday, while open interest rose to 46,114 contracts from 44,677 previously.

At 5 pm, the FBM KLCI rose 19.0 points, or 1.15 per cent, to 1,665.90, from Thursday’s close of 1,646.90.
