OAG Appoints Former Skyscanner Executive As CEO

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 17 (Bernama) -- OAG, a data platform for the global travel industry, has appointed former Skyscanner executive Filip Filipov as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Filipov, who currently serves as Chief Operating Officer, succeeds Phil Callow, who has stepped down after 13 years leading the company to pursue other interests, according to a statement.

Since joining OAG in 2024, Filipov has played a key role in driving the company’s next phase of growth and ongoing acceleration. He will now lead OAG into a new phase focused on advanced data products and artificial intelligence (AI)-driven intelligence.

OAG Chairman, Gehan Talwatte said the appointment reflects the company’s strong succession planning and commitment to stability, continuity and sustained growth.

“Our customers, partners and the industry can expect OAG to continue delivering the trusted service and innovation we are known for. Phil will be supporting the transition during the first quarter of 2026 and thereafter become an adviser to the board,” said Talwatte.

Meanwhile, Filipov said it was a privilege to step into the role and lead a company with a strong heritage and reputation, adding: “I am excited for what is ahead and committed to serving our customers with the reliability, service and innovation they depend on.”

Callow said he had decided it was the right time to pass the baton after steering OAG through multiple waves of change and helping build the company to its current position.

“It has been an enormous privilege to have led such an outstanding group of people, and I am extremely excited for their future, especially with Filip’s dynamic leadership in place,” he added.

Before joining OAG, Filipov held senior roles in travel technology and big-data consulting, including on Skyscanner’s executive team.
