Vantris Energy Shares Rise In Early Trade After RM4.27 Bln 3Q Profit

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 12 (Bernama) -- Vantris Energy Bhd, formerly Sapura Energy Bhd, surged in early trade after reporting a third-quarter (3Q) profit, reversing losses recorded in the first half of financial year 2026.

At 10.14 am, the stock rose nine sen to 45 sen, with 17.36 million shares changing hands.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, Vantris Energy reported a profit after tax and minority interests (PATAMI) of RM4.27 billion for the quarter, compared with a cumulative loss after tax and minority interests (LATAMI) of RM0.71 billion in the first half of financial year 2026.

The company said the turnaround was largely driven by material, non-recurring accounting gains from its restructuring exercise. As a result, year-to-date reported PATAMI improved to RM3.56 billion, against a year-to-date LATAMI of RM220 million in the same period last year.

Vantris Energy noted that the gains include the recognition of RM4.47 billion in debt forgiveness arising from the restructuring exercise.
