Robust 3Q 2025 GDP Growth Of 5.2 Pct Shows Economy On The Right Track - Fahmi

PUTRAJAYA, Nov 14 (Bernama) -- The strong Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth of 5.2 per cent in the third quarter of 2025 proves that the country's economy is on the right track, said Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.

Fahmi, who is also the MADANI Government spokesperson, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced during the Cabinet meeting today that among the sectors that recorded the highest and most encouraging GDP growth were the construction and services sectors, which recorded almost 12 per cent and nine per cent growth respectively.

“This (GDP growth) has exceeded what we considered the previous 'best case projection' of 4.8 per cent and although the figure was previously announced, it was only an estimate (at that time) and today it has been confirmed.

"It also proves our country’s economy is in a good position, on the right track and continues to record quite good growth," he said at a weekly press conference here.

Earlier, Bank Negara Malaysia announced that the Malaysian economy grew by 5.2 per cent in the third quarter of 2025 compared to 4.4 per cent in the second quarter of 2025, driven by higher domestic demand and export growth.
