More Than 1.45 Mln Participating In Free Modules On Rakyat Digital Portal -- Gobind

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 6 (Bernama) -- More than 1.45 million participants have joined the free modules offered on the Rakyat Digital Portal to-date, said Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo.

He said the initiative is part of efforts to realise Malaysia’s aspiration to become an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Nation and a regional hub by 2030, with a key focus on comprehensive local talent development at all levels.

"The Rakyat Digital Portal is a free online self-learning platform to increase basic AI literacy, offering modules such as AI for the People (AI Untuk Rakyat), Generative AI, AI Fluency, and other digital topics.

‘Additionally, AI at Work 2.0, in collaboration with Google, has been introduced to equip 445,000 civil servants with generative AI tools to boost efficiency and productivity in public service,” he said in a question-and-answer session at the Dewan Rakyat today.

He said this in response to a question from Dr Kelvin Yii Lee Wuen (PH-Bandar Kuching) on Malaysia’s plans to realise its AI Nation aspiration by 2030.
