Marjan, RAK Hospitality Merge To Create Northern Emirates’ Largest Developer

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 23 (Bernama) -- In a landmark move, Marjan, Ras Al Khaimah’s master developer of freehold properties, and RAK Hospitality Holding, the government-owned investment and development arm, have announced a strategic merger to form a unified entity under the Marjan brand.

The merger fuses world-class hospitality expertise with visionary land development, creating a future-ready powerhouse that integrates real estate, hospitality, and lifestyle experiences.

The combined entity will rank among the United Arab Emirates’ largest developers and cement Marjan’s status as the leading master developer in the Northern Emirates.

Marjan Chairman, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi said the merger aligns with RAK Vision 2030, which aims to make the Emirate a regional pioneer in liveability and opportunity.

“Anchored in this vision, the merger will create high-value jobs for Emiratis, develop national capabilities, and reinforce our position as a beacon of opportunity and innovation,” he said in a statement.

Meanwhile, its Group Chief Executive Officer, Abdulla Al Abdouli said the strengthened Marjan “will position Ras Al Khaimah as the global lifestyle and investment hub of the future”.

Marjan’s future developments, including Al Marjan Island, RAK Central, Marjan Beach, and the Jebel Jais masterplan, are set to enhance quality of life, boost tourism, and attract international investment. The merger supports RAK Vision 2030’s goal of welcoming 3.5 million annual visitors and achieving nearly 20,000 hotel keys.

The merger marks a pivotal step in Ras Al Khaimah’s growth journey, setting the stage for sustainable prosperity, vibrant communities, and a new era of development leadership in the Northern Emirates.
