Xsolla, Azerbaijan Join Forces To Build Regional Gaming Innovation Hub

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 25 (Bernama) -- Xsolla, a global video game commerce company, has entered strategic talks with Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Digital Development and Transport to expand its presence in Baku.

According to a statement, the meeting united Minister Rashad Nabiyev, Xsolla President Chris Hewish, and key officials from Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Innovation and Digital Development Agency.

The discussions centred on expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and Xsolla, with a focus on transforming Xsolla’s Baku office into a regional research and development (R&D) hub.

In under a year, the office, guided by Dr Fuad Karimov and Rytis Joseph Jan, has grown to over 30 employees and presented a comprehensive plan for sustained momentum.

Hewish said this partnership aligns with Azerbaijan’s vision for digital growth and offers a bridge between local talent and the global gaming market.

Meanwhile, Minister Nabiyev expressed optimism and said: “Transforming the company’s office in Baku into a regional R&D hub is an important step toward creating new opportunities for our talent and strengthening our country’s role in the global digital economy.”

The partnership aims to boost Azerbaijan’s digital expertise by expanding Baku-based operations to sharpen global technical skills, launching joint initiatives with Azerbaijan’s digital and transport sectors, and positioning the Baku office as a regional innovation powerhouse.

This alliance signals a new chapter for Azerbaijan as an emerging player in the international gaming and digital innovation arena.
