JF Tech Subsidiary Invests US$1.3 Mln In US Semiconductor Venture To Boost Market Presence

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 23 (Bernama) -- JF Technology Bhd’s (JF Tech) 75 per cent-owned indirect subsidiary, ATS Technology Services Sdn Bhd (ATSSB), has entered into a shareholders' agreement to acquire a 13 per cent stake in California-based ATS Technology Services Inc (ATSI) for US$1.3 million (RM5.46 million).

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, JF Tech said the move is aimed at establishing a semiconductor automatic test equipment (ATE) test cell business in the United States (US).

“The proposed investment will bring strong synergies to JF Tech, particularly in its test engineering solutions business.

“Together with the recent acquisition of Q3 Probe Pte Ltd, which specialises in front-end wafer testing, the test cell venture is expected to strengthen JF Tech’s position in the semiconductor value chain and expand its presence in the US market,” it said.

Upon completion, ATSI will be owned 87 per cent by Paul Anthony Emmett and Susan Emmett, and 13 per cent by ATSSB.

JF Tech said ATSSB will be responsible for procurement and logistics for semiconductor test parts and components, while ATSI will engage directly with US customers, providing product adoption, support and troubleshooting services.

“The proposed investment will be funded via internally generated funds and inter-company borrowings from JF International Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of JF Tech,” it added.

The company also noted that the investment will not affect its share capital or substantial shareholders’ equity, and is not expected to have a material impact on net assets per share and earnings per share for the financial year ending June 30, 2026.
