KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 8 (Bernama) -- Prudential Assurance Malaysia Bhd (PAMB) has appointed Malaysian industry veteran Kelvin Ang as the new chief executive officer (CEO) of its life business in Malaysia.

PAMB said in a statement today that Ang, with over 26 years of experience in the insurance sector, previously served as president and CEO of AIA Philippines and held leadership roles in Indonesia, Vietnam, China, Hong Kong and Malaysia.

“His extensive expertise spans agency development, business and technology transformation, mergers and acquisitions, and driving organisational agility across diverse Asian markets,” it said.

In his new role, Ang will report to Prudential’s regional chief executive officer for Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam, John Cai.

Commenting on the appointment, Cai said Ang brings more than two decades of leadership experience and a proven record in business transformation, strategic growth and organisational agility across Asia.

“His deep market insight, visionary leadership and people-first approach will be instrumental as we continue to strengthen our presence and deliver on our purpose in Malaysia,” he said.
