MIDA's Economic And Market Development Conference Boosts Kulim Hi-tech Park's Growth Ambition

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 29 (Bernama) -- The inaugural Economic and Market Development Conference 2025 gathered over 400 industry leaders, policymakers, and investors from Malaysia and Southeast Asia yesterday, highlighting Malaysia’s and Kulim Hi-Tech Park’s (KHTP) ambition to lead in high-value industries and innovation-driven growth.

The full-day conference held in KHTP was organised by the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), Kulim Technology Park Corporation, and Hong Leong Bank Bhd.

MIDA said the conference featured keynote addresses and networking sessions focusing on current economic trends, market development strategies, and opportunities for investment and innovation while strengthening private-public sectors networking to foster greater collaboration.

Commenting on the partnership, MIDA chief executive officer Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid said KHTP, through strong federal–state collaborations, has fostered an environment for multinational corporations to set up operations while enabling small and medium enterprises to innovate, integrate, and scale up within global supply chains.

"This symbiotic relationship between large corporations and local businesses is exactly what builds resilience and long-term competitiveness," he said in a statement today.

MIDA said the conference also concluded a resounding call for continued cooperation between industry players, financial institutions and government agencies.

The conference was officiated by Kedah Executive Councillor Industry and Investment, Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Dr Haim Hilman Abdullah.
