KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 28 (Bernama) --  The Dewan Rakyat today passed three motions from the Ministry of Finance with a majority voice vote in support.

The motions involved Malaysia’s contribution to the 21st Replenishment of the International Development Association (IDA), the closure of the Wildlife Attack Victims Financial Assistance Trust Fund, and the transfer of funds from the Malaysian Government Investment Issues (MGII) to the Development Fund (KWP).

Earlier, the motions were presented by Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying.

For the MGII motion, a resolution was tabled to allow the government to transfer the remaining MGII proceeds amounting to RM30 billion for the period of January to July 2025 to the Development Fund (KWP), in accordance with subsection 4(b) of the Government Funding Act 1983 (Act 275).

The transfer is intended to finance part of the country’s development expenditure needs.
